The treadmill

The treadmill is officially dust free and I have actually used it for two consecutive days.  Although I am far from my first goal of being able to run a mile without stopping, I am encouraged by the fact that I am moving and actually using the treadmill again.
I am so inspired by the participants on the Biggest Loser.  I keep telling myself “if they can do it, so can I.”  Suddenly reality hits and I remember they have Bob and Jillian to kick their butts.  Last night I put the treadmill right in front of the TV so it would feel like Jillian was yelling at me to move it.  Oh,  the things I will do to motivate myself! 1. Congratulations! You are certainly going to be a motivator for me! Right now I have a brace on my foot which I am so READY to yank off...for more than one reason...and jump on my treadmill! I guess first I need to find it...it is buried under boxes I think! Keep up the great work! When do you find the time???

  2. I noticed that you mentioned in the Ning that you wanted to add links to your blog posts. Here' how:
Click New Post. Type the text that you want to be the link, then select that text. Then notice in the menu bar below the title prompt, the word "Link". It is a button. Click the link button. You will then be able to paste in the URL to the link that you want the text you typed to go to.

  3. I used to love that show! It would be hard for me though, almost emotional. I have been through the weight loss and all that stuff. Struggled my whole life! I would love to invest in a treadmill or something, but my house is tiny and I don't have any space! One of these days......Keep up the hard work!

  4. I am impressed as well. Those first few steps can be so difficult and keeping with it after all the work, school, home chores are done can really drag you down, but don't let it.
Sara- Have you thought about a Wii? I thought it would be a waste of time, but I am really using it and with bad knees from skiing there are lots of movement activities that are making me break a sweat. Try one at a friends house if you can! Good Luck!

  5. I've thought about getting a treadmill but then I like my couch so much. Maybe I should try a treadmill in front of the TV like you and then collapse on the couch when I'm finished. Keep it up! You may just get me motivated to run too :)

  6. Alright Colleen! I don't have a treadmill - but I do have a gym membership. So....I need to dust off the membership card and get on the elliptical. They have TV's there but I would have to watch whatever they have the channel set to. I have a smartphone so now I'm thinking maybe I could spend the time listening to some podcasts! I wonder if there are any Biggest Loser podcasts??

  7. Susan~We do have a Wii. I haven't been using it lately. My four year old never seems to go to bed at night, and my four month old seems to keep me up all night. Between the two of them, I cherish my sleep. I actually made that comment to my husband that we haven't been working on the Wii lately and that we needed too. We love to have little competitions with Tennis. It can get brutal in our house!
